Dynamic Beach Volleyball
Sand plus sun and a whole lot of fun!
Did you know that beach volleyball is one of the fastest growing sports in the world? We thought it was time for more youth volleyball players in Windsor-Essex to take their game into the sand! For the past three years, Coach Ryan and Coach Krisha have provided personal beach volleyball training and coaching for aspiring young female players in the region who are serious about their volleyball and want to compete on the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) Beach Tour during the spring and summer months. Now there is even an OVA Winter Tour with tournaments at indoor sand facilities for players who want to extend their season!
For eight years while teaching in Toronto, Coach Ryan developed youth beach teams that competed on the OVA Tour. His teams consistently competed in the Premier Division and on more than one occasion, they earned top-five finishes at the Provincial and National Championships.
Coach Krisha played on the youth tour for six years and enjoyed great success which included a bronze medal finish at the 15U Ontario Provincial Championships with her partner, Christina Caruso, and two top-five finishes at the National Championships. Even at five-foot-two, Krisha was among the strongest players in the Premier Division for many years.
In 2017, the Dynamic Beach Volleyball teams won a total of 6 GOLD MEDALS in tournament play.
Coach Ryan and Coach Krisha are currently training girls in Windsor-Essex ages 10 and up who are interested in playing competitively on the tour. As part of the Dynamic Beach Volleyball program, the girls are taught the physical, mental, and technical aspects of the beach game that will enable them to compete in OVA tournaments. Practice and training sessions are held year-round both indoors and outdoors with a very low athlete-to-coach ratio. As a result, spots in the program are limited and try-outs are held for potential players. Indoor volleyball experience is recommended.
The OVA Beach Tour makes several stops across the province and our coaches travel to tournaments to support their teams and provide them with a competitive advantage. This past summer, Ryan and Krisha coached local teams at tournament stops in Windsor, Lakeshore, Port Stanley, Grand Bend, Stratford, Hamilton, Burlington, Toronto, Ottawa, and Holland, Michigan.
